David Mitchell narrates 6 lovely animated "Adventures in Thought". Entertaining and informative. Tasty:

Take a picture of the sky every 10 seconds for a year. What do you get? This awesome time-lapse grid thing.

And finally some shelly fun. As Marcel The Shell With Shoes On returns to our lives, I stumbled across this sweet snail advert. Heh.

  1. One example of AM integration with aerospace was in 2016 when Airbus was delivered the first of GE's LEAP engine. This engine has integrated 3D printed gas nozzles giving them a reduction in parts from 20 to 1, a 25% weight discount and reduced assembly instances. A gas nozzle is the perfect in road for additive manufacturing in a jet engine since it permits for optimized design of the complicated internals and it is a low stress, non-rotating part. Similarly, in 2015, PW delivered their first AM parts within the PurePower PW1500G to Bombardier. Sticking to low stress, non-rotating parts, PW chosen the compressor stators and synch ring brackets to roll out this new manufacturing technology for the first time. Thingsmiths precision machining has provided 3D printing and design services for companies and people within the Ann Arbor and greater Detroit space since 2013.
